Q&A with Carolina Savciuc, Finalto’s Events & Marketing Manager

From securing the perfect booth spot to making sure every detail reflects the brand, Finalto’s Events & Marketing Manager, Carolina Savciuc is working behind the scenes to make it all happen seamlessly. With iFX EXPO International around the corner, we sat down with Carolina to talk event chaos, creative wins, and why she’s never really off duty.

Tell us about your role as Events & Marketing Manager at Finalto

I’m responsible for overseeing the company’s presence at global expos, conferences, and industry events. I manage everything from securing event spaces and coordinating logistics to developing branded materials and on-site experiences. My role blends creativity, planning, logistics and strategy.

I also collaborate with our sales and design teams to ensure each event aligns with our commercial goals and brand identity. This includes creating tailored messaging, managing promotional materials, and delivering booth designs that reflect our position in the market.

So when you get to the event you can relax and take it easy?

Haha I wish! I have to hit the ground running. I’m double-checking that the booth is set up properly, ensuring all our marketing materials are in place, and troubleshooting issues that come up last-minute, because something always does! Once the event starts, I’m focused on supporting the team, keeping things running smoothly, and then it’s all about networking. It’s hectic, but I love the energy of it all.

What’s your favourite part of planning and attending these events?

There’s something really satisfying about seeing all the moving parts come together on the day. You spend weeks (sometimes months) planning every detail, and then suddenly it’s go-time. I love that moment when the doors open, the team’s in place, the booth looks great, and you can feel the energy kick in.

What trends are you seeing in the events and marketing space right now?

At industry expos, attendees want real engagement. Interactive demos, sharp messaging, and clever giveaways can grab attention, but ultimately you want to create a memorable experience. More exhibitors are using tech, games, and even celebrity appearances to draw crowds. But the key is using tech to enhance face-to-face interaction, not replace it.

Of course, great design and compelling promotional installations still makes a difference. A great booth can stop people in their tracks and open the door for a conversation. But you can’t rely on flashy tech or an AI demo. If your branding is not on point, you won’t get your message across.

How do you create meaningful engagement and brand impact at events?

Every event, every region has its own dynamics, so I always start by analysing the local audience, what they care about and what kind of experiences resonate with them. I also make sure to loop in our sales team ahead of events. They’re the ones talking directly to prospects and visitors, so their insight helps us shape messaging, giveaways, and booth design to match what people are actually asking about.

After every event, my team and I review what worked and what didn’t, and always try to add a fresh element to each new one. That could be a new piece of merchandise, a different kind of interactive experience, or a smarter design tweak. The goal is always to be relevant, professional, and aligned with our branding position and core values, while making a real connection with the people on the ground.

What’s one thing most people don’t realise about managing events?

How many small details there are! People see the final result, but behind the scenes, it’s hundreds of tiny decisions, from where the lighting goes to how brochures are stacked. And something unexpected always comes up. You need to be part project manager, part problem-solver, and part therapist by the end of it! But that’s also what makes it fun, it keeps you on your toes.

What are you expecting from iFX EXPO International in Cyprus?

Cyprus always delivers a strong international mix of industry leaders, which makes it a great space to exchange insights and identify emerging trends across global markets. That international perspective is important, especially in a sector like ours, where regulation, technology, and client expectations are constantly evolving across different markets. It’s a good opportunity to catch up with partners and contact we’ve developed at the various regional events and to compare notes and ideas.

Do you have any tips for visitors to this year’s expo?

It’s always useful to plan ahead and map out which companies you want to connect with, and book meetings in advance if you can. The expo can get busy quickly, and having a structure helps you make the most of it. Also, be sure to check out the speaker sessions too, they’re a great way to gain insight into where the industry is headed. And of course, if you spot someone from the Finalto team, be sure to say hi! We’re always happy to chat, whether it’s a quick hello or a more in-depth conversation.

How can attendees get in touch with the Finalto team?

For our team, the opportunity for in-person meetings is always a highlight of any expo. Attendees can email us at sales@finalto.com to set up face-to-face meetings or to schedule a call with the team.

iFX EXPO International 2025 takes place in Limassol, Cyprus from 17-19 June. Get in touch with Finalto to find out how our award-winning liquidity, risk management and financial technology can support your business.
