Senior Risk Manager

Finalto has established itself as a well-respected and reputable liquidity provider and is seeking a Risk Manager to join its UK risk team.  This role reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer and offers the opportunity to cover all aspects of the risk management framework’ to include development of the policies, processes and reporting with focus on the Key Risk areas, being Operational, Credit and Market risk.  This role will suit an individual who has a sound understanding of the risk process and be able to apply this to all areas and on all levels.

A good understanding of Credit and Market risk in leveraged Financial products, FX, CFDs or Spread Bets as an advantage.

What you'll be doing

Responsibilities

  • Providing input to the design and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management process, to include identification, analysis, management and reporting across all risk types.
  • Assessing risk by applying risk management and modelling techniques (e.g. VaR) to ensure controls are in place to maintain those risks to within the firms risk appetite.
  • Reporting – building, developing and maintaining reports at various frequencies to keep the business informed of its risk exposures and provide oversight for alerts, limits and actions.
  • Preparing risk management reports which may include converting or summarising complex data into meaningful presentations tailored to the relevant audience.
  • Credit Risk Management – review of counterparties to the firm, credit assessment of those counterparties and ensuring trading parameter controls (Net Open Position Limits, Margin Requirement and Credit Terms) are appropriate.
  • Market Risk Management – oversight of the company mandates and limits to ensure appropriate controls are in place, appropriate action is taken and exposures are effectively managed.
  • Promoting risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company
  • Cost analysis, determining ways to reduce costs, increase revenues, and improve overall company performance
  • Assessing risks for the purposes of the Independent Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and Individual Liquidity Adequacy Assessment (ILAA)
  • Event preparation and support during volatile periods where risk oversight and support are required, updating and maintaining the company’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

What you'll bring

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience working in risk management.
  • A good understanding of risk assessment techniques (e.g. VaR)
  • A good understanding and ability to analyse Financial Statements
  • Advanced in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experienced in working with senior management and directors.
  • Excellent Written, Verbal and Interpersonal Communication
  • A professional qualification in Risk Management (IRM or similar).
  • Programming is an advantage (VB, SQL, C++, Python).

Personal Skills;

  • Excellent presentation skills –large groups, senior management, training.
  • Self-motivated, responsible and good knowledge of best practices in risk management
  • Problem solving, analytical thinking, decision making & time management
