The Week Ahead: Trump trade, inflation data – 08/11/24
The fallout from the US election, the ongoing Trump Trade and the Federal Reserve’s decision to cut rates again continue to drive price action but focus shifts to some more mundane economic data this week. In the US, consumer price inflation and retail sales figures will be among the highlights. In the UK, wage growth and employment figures will be pored over in the wake of the Bank of England rate cut and recent Budget. And markets will be watching Trump’s key appointments and his social media for a flavour of what’s to come from Trump 2.0.
